Expressing grave concern and resentment over the rising trend of ‘Outsourcing’ and contract-based appointments in Jammu and Kashmir, the President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Democratic Party (JKNDP), Asif Nabi Dar, has termed it a cruel joke on the future of the region’s educated youth. He hit out at the current administration, alleging that transparency is being compromised through a revamped system of backdoor entries.
In a press statement issued here in Srinagar, the JKNDP President drew a grim comparison between past and present governance models.
”There was a time when the PDP regime was marred by rampant backdoor entries, which completely dismantled the merit system. Today, it is deeply unfortunate that under the current National Conference (NC) government, the exact same practice is being repeated under a new label. The ongoing backdoor appointments in the guise of ‘Outsourcing’ are nothing but a massive deception played against our youth,” Dar remarked.
Assault on Merit and Rising Unemployment
Asif Nabi Dar stated that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are already bearing the brunt of a severe unemployment crisis, and such administrative policies are pushing them further into despair. He alleged that the administrative machinery is being misused to favor a select few influential individuals, while highly qualified and deserving candidates are left knocking on doors for opportunities.
Warning the administration, the JKNDP President said, “We cannot stand by and watch the careers of our younger generation being systematically destroyed. The practice of bypassing merit to reward favorites must come to an immediate halt.”
Urgent Appeal to the Chief Minister for Justice
Given the gravity of the situation, Asif Nabi Dar has made an urgent appeal to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene immediately and deliver justice to the youth. On behalf of his party, he put forward the following key demands:
Halt on Opaque Outsourcing: Immediate suspension of all ambiguous and questionable appointments currently being carried out under the banner of outsourcing.
Transparent Recruitment: Ensuring all public sector vacancies are filled strictly on a permanent basis through transparent, merit-based selection processes.
Securing the Future of Youth: Restoring the rightful employment opportunities to the educated and capable youth of Kashmir to secure their future.
Concluding his statement, Asif Nabi Dar reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir National Democratic Party vehemently condemns any policy that encroaches upon the rights of ordinary youth. He asserted that the JKNDP remains fully committed to fighting for the rights and justice of the youth at every forum.
